The Veenfabriek performed ‘De Wereld van Wie’ at Oerol festival in 2023. With music, fantasy, poetry, rituals, rice and many other fresh ingredients, Veenfabriek invents a world made up true stories. Wereled van Wie is a performance about how we give meaning to the world with stories, and how quickly it can make things go sour. About Vietnam, forefathers, food, forgetting, fleeing and friendship.
One of the characters in this play is Flipje. Flipje is a puppet made up by Betuwe, a jam brand. It is one of the things Wie remembers from his childhood. I was asked to make a costume that respresents Flipje and still makes it possible for the actress to move around.
